Government ITI Belapur was established in the year 1980 under the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), Government of Maharashtra. The institute was founded with the vision of providing job-oriented technical education to the youth of Navi Mumbai and surrounding regions.

Initially, the institute started with a few trades and limited infrastructure. Over the decades, it has transformed into a well-established, reputed technical training institute, recognized by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.

The institute has expanded in terms of courses, modern workshops, computer labs, and industry collaborations to meet the dynamic needs of the industry. Today, it stands as a pillar of skill education in the region, contributing significantly to employment generation and self-reliance.

An ITI (Industrial Training Institute) is a vocational training institute that offers technical training in various trades to prepare students for employment or self-employment.
